Being a Maternity and Newborn Photographer, you would probably be surprised at some of the questions that I get asked quite frequently. One that I am not so surprised at, is the simple question; “What items are most important to add to my registry?” So today, I wanted to share some of my most recommended things to add to your registry.
For starters, I think it’s important to browse the different stores and websites before deciding where you want to register. My personal favorite is Amazon, for the sole fact that you can get almost everything in one spot. All of these items aside from #1 can be found on Amazon! With that being said, lets start with #1 on my list..
I’m sure you guessed it, but yes! I am the biggest fan of Gift Vouchers for Photography Services to all of my friends and family. Photography is an investment BUT it is without a doubt, the gift that keeps giving. Most Photographers (myself included) offer Gift Vouchers beginning at $50+. The only caution that I can give with this option, is to specify which photographer you would like to book with to your friends and family if you have one that is preferred!

This lounger was a life saver when my youngest son was born. Having two children was an adjustment in itself, and there were so many times where my hands couldn’t stretch to assist both of my children at the same time. It was so nice to know that I could simply lay my youngest in his lounger (in focal view of course), and cater to my oldest for whatever he needed without needing to worry about starting the swing, or running to place him in his bed.

Oh my goodness, without a doubt this is my MOST used item that I purchased. When I say most used, I mean literally used more than the crib (insert crying emoji here HAHA). But really, the Hatch is a dream for Colicky or unsettled babies in general. Most nights I can guarantee that my son would not have slept for more than 2 hours without this sound machine. You can easily control the sound, volume, and light settings easily from your phone and even set a timer that begins and stops the sound every night or morning. We have used this in our home for 5 years now, and I even keep one in my studio for Newborn Sessions!

This item is pretty self explanatory, but if you plan to breast feed this is a MUST. If you aren’t aware, when you are feeding baby on one breast you still have a letdown in the other! The Haakaa catcher is so easy to use, just suction to whichever side you are not feeding on and leave while you feed baby. When you have your let down, instead of catching it all in a breast pad (or every one of your shirts if you are anything like me), you now have some milk to add to your freezer stash!

This is by far my favorite baby book that I have found throughout my journey of three kiddos. I hoard memories of my babies, and I need a LOT of space to keep them all organized in an aesthetically pleasing way. They offer so many cute colors, and I love the way that they have so many spaces for photos. 10/10 recommend!
