When Sarah first contacted me, she was looking for a photographer to capture her Maternity and Newborn Session. We chatted about the experience and products that I offer, and she was so excited that she booked right away! We discussed her vision for her Maternity Session, and she said that she had envisioned a more natural luxe, boho style for her gallery. When she said that she also wanted fine art nude, it made my heart SING. May be totally cheesy of me but I get excited for nude portraits because they remind my clients how incredibly beautiful they are in their own skin!
I began styling her wardrobe options and relaying a few ideas to ensure that her session went perfect! She came in and loved them all, so we went to werkkk!
Once we began shooting, she was just GLOWING. No matter how well I get to know my clients and share my personality with them, I still understand that as a new mama coming into a studio and getting nude in front of a camera can be a slightly intimidating. I could see a little bit of that nervousness on her face at one point, and that is always when I decide to show my clients a shot from the back of my camera. It never fails, and I can't even begin to describe how her face lit up with confidence after seeing just how beautiful she truly looked. I am always a hype man in the studio, but I'm sure many mamas feel like I'm just "doing my job" until I show them that sneak peek shot. This is the most important part of my work to me. I have no doubt that every single client of mine will leave my studio feeling absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Your session won't just change your perspective of yourself for the day, but very well could impact the way you see yourself for the rest of your life. You just need to trust the process.
